Same Old Story

Time of Your Life Photography

There are favourite stories that just cannot be told to loved ones over dinner everynight.  They need an outlet, like strangers.  One of the reasons I enjoyed driving cab was because I got to hear so many.

Go out and sit on your porch or a park bench and let someone vent….

Same Old Story

In the rearview mirror
I see pages turn,
in his eyes the clear sound
of his journal rustling;
old faded writings
read under the poor light
of a cab at dusk.

I knew he would find it.
Stoking embers,
hands rubbed as he settles
a slight lean as he tells.
A glow in rearview,
fellow campers go quiet
as the story told.
